Update regarding ApexLOAD PRO

We launched and introduced our new website ApexLOAD PRO on December 3rd, 2025 (see full article here).

At its heart, ApexLOAD PRO is an advanced ballistics calculator that enables you to calculate an almost unlimited number of load recipes from virtually any combination of caliber, bullet, and powder. Instead of relying solely on static load tables, the platform allows reloaders to model and refine loads based on their specific firearm and component setup.

Since launch, we have expanded the platform with several additional calculators and analytical tools:

• Internal Ballistics Calculator – Models chamber pressure, muzzle velocity, powder burn behavior, and key internal performance indicators based on your selected components and rifle parameters.

• Trajectory Calculator – Calculates external ballistics, including bullet drop, velocity decay, and energy at various distances.

• Parametric Powder Search (PPS) – Identifies and compares suitable powders for a specific caliber–bullet combination based on customizable criteria such as fill ratio, pressure limits, and velocity targets.

• Optimal Barrel Time (OBT) Calculator – Supports precision shooters in identifying barrel time nodes to improve consistency and accuracy.

• Target Velocity Calculator – Helps determine load configurations that achieve a specific desired velocity, including subsonic applications. Ideal for subsonic load development.

• NextGen Reloading Tool – This tool is ideal for reloaders who are not yet set on a specific caliber, bullet, or powder combination. Use it to explore suitable bullets and load recipes for your target caliber. Once you have a shortlist, you can fine-tune your setup with our calculators to maximize performance and accuracy.

Anyone who wants to test ApexLOAD PRO can register and create a user account. Each user initially receives five free calculations. After that, a license is required.

Existing xxlreloading.com members with an active license are automatically recognized and receive a 50% discount for their first year. This provides ample time to decide whether xxlreloading.com remains their preferred platform — or whether apexload.pro better suits their individual needs.

Unlike traditional desktop-based ballistics software, ApexLOAD PRO is a fully web-based application accessible from any device. Component database updates — covering bullets, calibers, and powders — are rolled out almost daily, with no installation or manual updates required.
