Introducing ApexLOAD PRO

In recent years, many users have expressed a desire for us to develop a program comparable to the previously widespread QuickLOAD or the Gordon Reloading Tool (GRT). Both applications were heavily used by reloaders, but neither currently maintains or updates bullet, powder, or caliber data.

QuickLOAD could only be installed and used on Windows computers with a CD drive. GRT also requires local installation on a Windows PC. However, many users want a modern, platform-independent, and online-available system that works in all common browsers and on all devices.

With our "Personalized Load Calculator" on xxlreloading.com , we already fulfill most of the desired requirements. However, some functions—such as graphical pressure gradients—cannot be implemented there for technical reasons. To offer these features nonetheless, we had to implement them using the same data, powder models, and simulation algorithms, but in a separate system. With this in mind, we developed ApexLOAD PRO . The site requires a separate user account and its own access license—unfortunately, there was no other way to implement it technically. ApexLOAD PRO is primarily aimed at experienced reloaders who are already familiar with their components and want to perform particularly detailed calculations to optimize their loads.

Anyone who wants to test ApexLOAD PRO can register and create a user account. Each user initially receives 5 free calculations. After that, a license is required.

Existing xxlreloading.com members with an active xxlreloading.com license will be automatically recognized and receive a 50% discount on their first year. This provides ample time to decide whether xxlreloading.com remains their preferred platform – or whether apexload.pro better suits their individual needs. Here's a snapshot of the new program:

The app runs well for me - no bugs, fast calculations. seems they have done their homework. Component database is pretty impressive and up to date

I used it for the free trial calculations. One thing that I noticed was that when I input a known load it said it was well outside of the cartridges safe pressure range, which I thought was kind of odd. It did seem pretty close velocity wise on some bullets that I had tested and chronographed myself, I can't see those numbers now but I believe it was within 10-15 ft/s of what I had measured. It was a semi experimental load and I had not seen any pressure signs but thought some extra data wouldn't hurt. Based on how it handled the known loads I don't know if the pressure data is good or bad. It's annoying as hell…

Not a single response or a reply from XXL Reloading to the issues raised in two days. Seriously?

So. I just paid for the subscription, after using GRT for some time. I'm trying to do 6.5PRC, Berger 156, and VV N 565 powder. QLPro is STILL calculating. Also....

  1. I see only G1 BC. I'm given to understand that G7 is more accurate for VLD-type bullets.

  2. QLPro appears to support only one charge weight at a time. We can't do a range, ala GRT?

  3. While the app is "calculating" I can't do anything else. Pressed "Reset", now most of the fields are clocking.

Did you guys even try this out before releasing it? I paid. Get this fixed, and quick (no pun intended), or I'll demand a refund.

Me again. Just entered most of the above comments into the rating section of the application, and hit save. That's clocking too! WTF.
