Sax Load Data
Our Sax load data covers 94,731 load recipes for 88 bullets and 325 calibers. Find all bullets and reloading data below and compare the performance of different powders for each bullet and caliber combination side-by-side.

SAX bullets are typically solid copper or copper-alloy projectiles with controlled expansion. Unlike traditional lead-core bullets, monolithic copper bullets retain nearly 100% of their weight, which results in deep penetration, reliable exit wounds, and minimal fragmentation. This design reduces meat damage and significantly lowers the risk of lead contamination in game meat and the environment.
A key feature of SAX ammunition is its mechanically engineered expansion geometry. Expansion is initiated through pre-cut petals or hollow-point designs that open reliably across a wide range of impact velocities. This makes SAX bullets suitable for both short-range forest hunting and longer-range alpine or open-field shots.
SAX ammunition is commonly used for big game hunting, including deer, wild boar, chamois, and similar species. It is appreciated by hunters who prioritize animal welfare, precision, and environmental responsibility. Due to the harder material of copper compared to lead, SAX bullets often achieve high penetration while maintaining stable flight characteristics.

About Sax load data on XXL Reloading
This page collects every Sax bullet we hold reloading data for, grouped by caliber and bullet weight. Each caliber and bullet combination links to a detail page with powder-by-powder load recipes: powder brand and type, start and maximum charge weight in grains and grams, case fill ratio, calculated peak chamber pressure, muzzle velocity and the barrel length the load was computed for.
Unlike a manufacturer's own tables, our Sax data is generated with an inner-ballistics engine across the full powder range, so you can compare many powders side by side for the same bullet instead of the handful a single load manual prints. Charge weights, pressures and velocities are modelled consistently, which makes cross-powder and cross-caliber comparison meaningful when you work up a load.
Use the caliber and bullet-weight filters above to narrow the list, switch to the Bullets tab to browse the Sax product range, and open any combination to see the full load table. All data is calculated reference data for experienced handloaders: always start at the minimum charge, work up carefully in your own rifle, and cross-check against current published data before firing.
