Atomic29 hunting bullets are premium, all-copper rifle projectiles designed primarily for hunting. They’re made in Australia by a small producer using CNC machines to turn solid copper bar stock into precisely engineered bullets. The name “Atomic29” comes from copper’s atomic number (29) on the periodic table, the metal used for construction.

These bullets are monolithic copper designs — meaning they’re one solid piece of metal without a separate jacket or core — featuring a hollow-point front and boat-tail rear for balanced expansion and aerodynamic efficiency. Grooves cut into the shank help reduce barrel pressure and allow copper to flow with the rifling, which minimizes fouling.

Atomic29 projectiles are intended to expand reliably at high velocity and retain most of their weight after impact, giving deep, straight-line penetration on game animals. Independent field tests and hunting reports note good accuracy and strong performance on medium to large game, with bullets often exiting the animal or embedding deep after expansion.

Because they’re copper rather than lead, they’re non-toxic and compliant with many areas’ hunting regulations that restrict lead ammunition. They’re designed for use at typical cartridge velocities and aren’t suitable for subsonic loads.

About Atomic 29 load data on XXL Reloading

This page collects every Atomic 29 bullet we hold reloading data for, grouped by caliber and bullet weight. Each caliber and bullet combination links to a detail page with powder-by-powder load recipes: powder brand and type, start and maximum charge weight in grains and grams, case fill ratio, calculated peak chamber pressure, muzzle velocity and the barrel length the load was computed for.

Unlike a manufacturer's own tables, our Atomic 29 data is generated with an inner-ballistics engine across the full powder range, so you can compare many powders side by side for the same bullet instead of the handful a single load manual prints. Charge weights, pressures and velocities are modelled consistently, which makes cross-powder and cross-caliber comparison meaningful when you work up a load.

Use the caliber and bullet-weight filters above to narrow the list, switch to the Bullets tab to browse the Atomic 29 product range, and open any combination to see the full load table. All data is calculated reference data for experienced handloaders: always start at the minimum charge, work up carefully in your own rifle, and cross-check against current published data before firing.
