- The .300 CR (aka the ".300 Carbine Rifle") is a modern "straight-walled" rifle cartridge developed by CorBon and introduced in 1993. Designed primarily for use in AR-15 rifles and carbines, this round offers shooters lightweight bullets with high velocities, resulting in excellent energy transfer at close ranges while still offering relatively flat trajectories out to intermediate distances - making it perfect for hunting, self defense and target shooting applications alike.
Offering excellent accuracy potential from quality rifles equipped with optics, this rifle round is capable of taking down small game animals like coyotes or hogs as well as medium sized deer out to 200 yards with ease. It also has potential for match shooting, where its flat trajectory makes it an ideal long range cartridge. When aggregating the ballistic performance of 196 suitable bullets for this caliber, you get an average powder charge of 38.9gr | 2.52g , an average muzzle velocity (V0) of 2476fps | 755m/s , and an average muzzle energy (E0) of 2942 Joule.
